DecisionBrain Begins Work on a “Matchmaking” Algorithm Project for Babilou

Babilou is a leading private childcare network based in France, with a presence in 12 countries and around 700 establishments. The DecisionBrain project called MODE (Match de l’Offre et de la Demande) will match parent’s requests with the available openings in various nurseries using a “matchmaking” optimization mathematical model developed with the DB Gene platform.

IBM and DecisionBrain Announce a Commercial License for DOC

DecisionBrain announces a deal whereby IBM will include in its Data and AI product offering an OEM version of DecisionBrain optimization platform. The platform will be commercialized as IBM Decision Optimization Center (DOC) version 4.0:

IBM® Decision Optimization Center provides a configurable platform to support business decision makers such as scientists, developers, analysts, line-of-business (LoB) decision makers, planners and schedulers. It uses powerful analytics to solve tough planning and scheduling challenges. Decision Optimization Center reduces the effort, time and risk associated with creating tailored solutions that improve business outcomes. IBM Decision Optimization Center enables decision makers to make smarter, better decisions and improve return on investment (ROI) by combining massive data resources with cutting-edge analytics and optimization tools.

TAL Group

DecisionBrain leveraged sophisticated optimization algorithms to implement a customized solution that allowed TAL Group, a global garments manufacture, to improve key operational metrics.

Tips & tricks in OR practice

Operations Research (OR) is a science with solid grounds coming from mathematics (graph theory, combinatorial optimization, convex and non convex geometry …), artificial intelligence (A*, constraint programming), local search and other metaheuristics such as evolutionary methods (Genetic Algorithms), simulated annealing or even nature-inspired methods such as ant-colony or swarm particle.
